The kiosk acts as a mobile visitor information centre while ultimately promoting our Chamber members. With up to 18,000 visitors per day to Parksville and area, the opportunity exists to attract visitors to do more, spend more and stay longer. That, along with helping the local community to discover or perhaps rediscover all that our great region has to offer. The kiosk offers visitors information in an easy, accessible and innovative way and we are sure the kiosk will benefit our tourism industry members including attractions, restaurants, retail shops and accommodations. Travelers can check on highway conditions, festivals and events, weather conditions and view a local map.
‘The kiosk now makes its home in a high traffic area of Thrifty Foods, right near the customer service desk and we couldn’t be happier with the results’ says Kim Burden, Executive Director of the Parksville & District Chamber of Commerce, we’ve been provided the opportunity to showcase our regional video and work with some great partners including: Thrifty Foods, Pacific Brimm Café & Catering, Sunrise Ridge Resort, Horne Lake Caves, North Island Wildlife Recovery Centre, Lisa M., MacDonald Realty, Quality Resort Bayside, Parker McDonald – Royal LePage Parksville Qualicum Beach Realty, Tyler Cave Productions, bDigital Video, 5 Star Media Group and Geeks on the Beach’ Thank you to everyone who worked on this project and please, come by to check out the kiosk, it really does look like a giant iPhone!’
