City of Parksville
The City of Parksville with a population of about 12,000 is an active community of retirees and families with young children who have chosen to live in Parksville for the quality lifestyle and the region’s natural environment and developed amenities.
The City’s 39 acre Community Park in downtown Parksville features a spectacular walk on beachfront and waterfront walkway, sports fields, tennis courts, beach volleyball courts and the Lions Venture Land children’s playground and waterpark. At low tide, the ocean recedes almost a kilometer, providing an ideal place for visitors to play in the sand and explore the shoreline. Also within the City of Parksville is Rathtrevor Beach Provincial Park, BC’s most popular and most used campground, which features an inviting, sandy beach with 200 campsites nestled among majestic old growth trees.
Parksville is home to many community events and festivities such as Canada Day celebrations, the Canadian Open Sand Sculpting Competition, KidFest, Oceanside Overdrive Cruise and Car Show, Brant Festival and the Parksville Kitefest.
