Each year, the Parksville & District Community Awards, “The Glassies”, honours individuals, associations and businesses that have made a significant contribution to the Parksville community.

An independent nominations review panel selects those nominees that truly meet the awards criteria: a business, association or person who demonstrates a great capacity for caring, applying original ideas, accepting challenges, and taking risks while balancing the social needs of the community.

Looking for some summer fun?

The Parksville and District Chamber of Commerce invites you to  come and experience the excitement of downtown Parksville’s annual Summer by the Sea Street Market, being held every Tuesday night from June 15 to August 17, from 6:30 pm -9:30 pm.

Over 120 exceptional artisans offer everything from wrought iron work, rock candles to wooden toys; we definitely have something for everyone.  Add tasty food and a fabulous line-up of entertainment for your enjoyment.  Come out and support our local merchants, as well as vendors traveling from all over Vancouver Island and the Gulf Islands.

If you're interested in becoming a vendor, please fill in the application form below.  The Street Market Coordinator can be reached at the Chamber office, 250-248-3613, Mondays from 9-1, starting February 1.

Golfing for a good cause

The Parksville & District Chamber of Commerce annual golf tournament and dinner will be held June 4 at Arrowsmith Golf & Country Club.

Initiated in 2000 as a Chamber fundraiser, it has evolved into a fun, social event for golfers of all skill levels. Non-golfers can come and have fun, too!

A night of fun(d) raising!

26th Annual Fantasy Auction – “Lights, Camera…Auction!” On October 16, 2010, the Chamber of Commerce will be hosting its 26th Annual Fantasy Auction – “Lights, Camera, Auction!”

The Fantasy Auction is a night of fund raising! Your Chamber of Commerce takes on many responsibilities and projects within our community, such as economic and social development (business start up and relocation counseling, residential relocation packages, retail promotions, etc), Community Awards night, new community entrance signage, and hosting public meetings. As well, the Chamber of Commerce operates the Visitor Centre year round.

The annual Fantasy Auction fundraiser includes a gourmet dinner, catered this year by Galloping Gourmet Catering Company, Silent and Live Auctions, draws and dancing to the music of the Maloomba Boogie Band! It’s one of Parksville’s premier social events and you don’t have to be a Chamber of Commerce member to enjoy this special night. Just call 250-248-3613 for your tickets, which are $85 each, $650 for a table of 8 or $800 for a table of 10.
