    Meghan Walker, President

    Meghan Walker has been a REALTOR® since 2014. Real estate is one of Meghan’s passions, as is building relationships and it shines through every interaction with her clients. It was the opportunity to do something she loved while establishing long-lasting relationships that drew her from her previous career in hospitality and tourism management. Her commitment to clients and love for the area have made her one of the top producing agents in the business. ​ During her term as a Chamber Director Meghan’s Real Estate knowledge and her Tourism experience were valuable resources for the Events and Policy Committee.
  • Charmaine Smith, President Elect

    Charmaine Smith, President Elect

    Charmaine Smith works with Coastal Community Credit Union as a Business Relationship Manager in the Parksville Business Centre. She and her family settled in Qualium Beach 15 years ago after moving from Victoria. She has two teenage daughters.Charmaine enjoys Crossfit, gardening, beekeeping, and anything that keeps her outdoors! She is also part of the Board of Directors with Inclusion Parksville and the ODCA board. She likes to get involved in the community and to help where she can.
  • Jeff Frankford, Vice President

    Jeff Frankford, Vice President

    Jeff Frankford was raised in Port Alberni and with his family located to Parksville in 1972. He’s lived in the Parksville area for most of his life and for the last 20 years has lived in Nanoose Bay with his family. He and his wife Tami own Island Cleaning Supplies and their son in-law Todd Burnham manages the company with them. They each play a part, making it a real family business. Jeff holds an electrical ticket with the BC Safety Authority for low energy and is a licensed and bonded contractor. He is currently the VP of The Rotary Club of QB.
  • Arayna Tisdelle, Treasurer

    Arayna Tisdelle, Treasurer

    Arayna has over 20 years of bookkeeping and office management experience. She attended Malaspina University College in Nanaimo, and earned an Office Administration Certificate. She was born in Ontario, and moved to British Columbia with her family when she was 6 years old, living on Vancouver Island for a majority of her childhood. Arayna is a mother of 2 children, and enjoys running, hot coffees, and good books.
  • Peter Jory, Director

    Peter Jory, Director

    Peter Jory has recently joined SD69 as Superintendent of Schools from School District 83 (North Okanagan-Shuswap), and has previously worked in the Cowichan Valley, Sea to Sky, Prince Rupert and Fraser-Cascade, as a principal, vice principal, senior staff member and superintendent. Peter grew up on the Island and was a principal in Duncan for five years. He and his spouse have significant history there.
  • Jean Maltesen, Past President

    Jean Maltesen, Past President

    Jeannie Maltesen moved to Parksville in 1993, and has lived in Errington since 1998. Jeannie holds a Bachelor of Arts, a Bachelor of Education, a Master of Education, and completed her Doctorate in Education in 2020. She has been employed by VIU since 1993 and currently holds the position of Associate VP of Marketing and Communications. As a representative for Vancouver Island University, a local resident of the Oceanside community, a parent of two high school age children, and a spouse of a local business owner, Jeannie has a vested interest in the Chamber and the economic development of this community. She brings a valuable perspective to the Chamber that encompasses a broad scope of stakeholder interests; one that supports the development of a vision and implementation of an actionable plan that will achieve long-term sustainability of a healthy, thriving Oceanside region.
  • Brian McLean, Director

    Brian McLean, Director

    Brian McLean worked for 25 years in the food manufacturing industry in South Africa and relocated with his family 6 years ago. Brian is with Core Insurance Solutions. Being a lifetime buyer of the commodity he is now on the other side of the desk! His passion in business leans towards entrepreneurship and he hopes he can provide some mentorship to those new to business and perhaps bring fresh ideas to the Board. ​

  • Tyler Cody, Director

    Tyler Cody, Director

    Tyler Cody grew up in Parksville and graduated from Ballenas. He completed 4 years of non-profit work with Youth and international missions with YWAM. Shortly after his return, he married his wife Melissa and they now have three sons that keep them busy. They settled in Parksville as a family and Tyler completed his Electrical Apprenticeship in 2008 and started Osprey Electric in 2012 with his business partner and one staff member. Since then, Osprey Electric has grown to employ over 50 staff and have become a reputable contractor within the construction industry. In 2018, Tyler completed the LEAN Greenbelt certification and was awarded the top 20 under 40 business leaders on Vancouver Island. Tyler enjoys real BBQ, music, squash, skiing, wilderness camping with his family, and recently recorded his first self written EP.
  • Cassie Long, Director

    Cassie Long, Director

    Cassie Long moved to Parksville in 2015 from Whistler. Her family chose Parksville because it provided them with the right job opportunities, and they were ready for beach life after having been on the mountain for so long. Cassie works with Bayview Strata Services and has experience with communications, property management, hospitality management, marketing, social media and sales. She is passionate about real estate and sustainable development. She enjoys music, festivals, travel, family time, and community involvement. She’s always interested in connecting with others and exchanging ideas!

  • Patricia Cathrine, Director

    Patricia Cathrine, Director

    Patricia Cathrine has been appointed to the board to fill a vacancy left by Luc Ouellet’s retirement. She is a Vancouver Island University alumni with a BA in English, B. Ed and M. Ed – Leadership. She’s worked with School District 69 since 2008 and is currently the Vice Principal at Ballenas Secondary. She enjoys family time with her husband and very busy toddler, exploring the beautiful place we call home, live music and a good coffee! She is looking forward working on the board and to supporting our youth with employment experiences and options.
  • Jodie Lucas, Director

    Jodie Lucas, Director

    Jodie’s family moved from the Okanagan to Nanoose Bay in 1994. Soon after she joined them and was instantly immersed into “island life”. Jodie is a lover of all thing’s food and drink! She has been in the food and beverage industry for as long as she can remember and has worked in various restaurants in the community. While working at The Landing at Pacific Shores in Nanoose Bay she gained her level 1 and 2 sommelier certificate through the International Sommelier Guild. In 2013, she and her husband bought the old Williams Farm in Nanoose and got busy developing and farming and in 2017, opened Rusted Rake Eatery adding their own personal charm to the community. Jodie looks forward to reopening again soon, this time offering fresh beer made from barley grown on sight. In the meantime, she is busy enjoying farm life, spending time with her five-year-old daughter and developing craft beer for the community.
  • Bradd Tuck, Director

    Bradd Tuck, Director

    Always drawn to the island, Bradd Tuck moved to Parksville in 2013 after growing up in Manitoba and attending the University of Victoria. Bradd started his career as Park Manager in Rathtrevor Beach Provincial Park. After he and his wife Carlea welcomed their first son, Oliver, in 2015, Bradd joined the family business, Yates Memorial Services. Bradd’s role as General Manager has cultivated a passion for team growth and development. Bradd’s family has grown to include another son, Bowen, and black lab Bentley. Bradd and his family enjoy camping, biking, and exploring the island. Bradd has previously served on the board of the Young Professionals of Oceanside, is an active member of 100 Oceanside Men Who Give a Damn, committee member of SOS Project Rebuild, and Sponsorship and Recruitment Chair for Leadership Vancouver Island.

The Board of Directors is elected annually and determine policies and programs. The staff employed by the board is responsible for organizing and executing the Chamber of Commerce's programs and promoting policies. The committees consisting of members of the Chamber of Commerce are committed to achieving the goals within the strategic plan. As the #1 business association in the community, we are the voice of business through our collective association.
