Celebrate the best in business!

Each year the Parksville & District Chamber of Commerce hosts a gala awards ceremony for the Business Achievement Awards.  This year, the awards will be held on June 15th, 2023 at the Arbutus Meadows Farm, Nanoose Bay. Chamber members, businesses, individuals and community leaders gather at the awards ceremony to honour the award recipients and to enjoy networking, drinks, dinner and a celebration of our business community. The Business Awards are an opportunity to recognize and honour businesses and individuals that have made outstanding contributions to our community over the past year. There are eight awards in total, each with specific criteria. READ MORE to see the announcement of this year's finalists!

Service Excellence Award: is presented to an individual or business who consistently offers exceptional service and goes beyond customer expectations. Customer service excellence should have been displayed within 2022 to be relevant. Please give thorough examples of your experience and reasoning.

Small Business of the Year – (less than 15 employees): recognizes a small business with less than 15 employees, has made an outstanding contribution to the community and has a reputation for providing superior customer service. Please give thorough examples of your experience and reasoning.

Large Business of the Year (more than 15 employees): recognizes a large business with 15 employees or more, has made an outstanding contribution to the community and has a reputation for providing superior customer service. Please give thorough examples of your experience and reasoning.

Outstanding Workplace – Employer of the Year: recognizes the business that goes above and beyond for their employees and provides the best overall place to work. For them, culture and a happy, healthy work environment for staff is very important. Must have been in business for at least one year. Please give thorough examples of your experience and reasoning.

Community Spirit – Citizen of the Year: This award will be presented annually to an individual whose volunteerism and outstanding service and dedication have made a significant contribution to the community. . Sponsoredby the City of Parksville in memory of the late and beloved Joan LeMoine.

Not for Profit of the Year: (must be a registered not for profit) honours a not for profit business that has demonstrated continual business excellence through positive business growth and embraced an outstanding commitment to providing quality services to the community. Other attributes would be that the organization consistantly works to promote Volunteerism, to broaden awareness of their service through continued education and social advancement.

Tourism - Destination PQB: Sponsored and chosen by PQBTA. Recognizes a business, organization or individual that supports the tourism and hospitality industry and encourages visitors to the region. The nominee helps to promote the region as a world class, all season tourism destination and provides visitors with unforgettable experiences. Please give thorough examples of your experience and reasoning.

Lou Biggemann Chamber Champion Award: A unique award that does not receive nominations from the public but rather is selected by the Chamber Board of Directors and staff. Individuals, organizations or businesses are selected because they support the Chamber events, programs and initiatives throughout the year. They are a Chamber Champion. The Award will celebrate the lifelong achievements of the late Lou Biggemann, the first manager of the Parksville & District Chamber of Commerce, hired in 1985 and retired in 2000.
