Parksville Adult Literacy Society
PQALS advocates and educates about the need for adult learning within our community. We fundraise to help strengthen language services (including ESL, basic literacy, numeracy, and computer skills) delivered through The Tutoring Program (which is an initiative of Central Vancouver Island Job Opportunities Building Society, CVIJOBS)

- Delivery of on-going tutor training sessions, “Tutor Talks”, five sessions annually, focused on topics relevant to tutoring.
- Purchasing teaching/learning resources for use of the Tutor Program.Advertising to recruit volunteer tutors and learners.
- Helping support staff capacity to manage, train, and mentor the work of volunteer tutors.
