Featuring the Quality Foods Canadian Open Sand Sculpting Competition each July, the Parksville Beach Festival is family entertainment at its best. Each July, master sand sculptors take to the beach for 30 hours over 4 days to create their works of art using nothing but sand, water, a few common gardening tools and a lot of patience!! Doubles and solodists compete for their share of the prize purse. the winning soloist and double advance to the World Championships of Sand Sculpting. The sculptures remain on display for six weeks.
