Qualicum International Student Program
About
The Qualicum International Student Program (QISP), part of School District 69, proudly welcomes students from around the world to experience education, culture, and community life in beautiful Parksville and Qualicum Beach on Vancouver Island. Our program offers international students the opportunity to study at our local schools, including Ballenas Secondary and Kwalikum Secondary, while experiencing Canadian life through welcoming homestay families. With flexible academic programs, English language development, extracurricular activities, and personalized support, we help students grow academically, socially, and culturally. At QISP, we believe international education is about more than the classroom — it's about building connections that last a lifetime. Through our Bring the World Home initiative, we are strengthening relationships between international students, local families, businesses, and community organizations. From volunteering and cultural exchanges to community events, recreational activities, and local partnerships, we encourage our students to become active members of the Oceanside community. Our program also contributes to the local economy by supporting homestay families, introducing international visitors to our region, and connecting students with local businesses, attractions, and services. We are passionate about creating opportunities for our community to connect with the world while showcasing everything that makes Oceanside such a special place to live, learn, and explore. Together, we're bringing the world home — one student, one family, and one community connection at a time.
